About the project
Taboos surrounding therapy, and the cost of therapy can act as a barrier to entry for many in our communities. We want to relieve individuals who may benefit from therapy, of this cost by creating a free digital group therapy space.
This project will see us a pilot two initial session which will serve 4 participants of Afro-Caribbean descent. All ages and genders are welcome.
The sessions will be led by a trained black professional who is experienced in delivering therapy to groups. The session will be held over a private group video call.
If the pilot sessions are as impactful as we know they can be, we will be turning this into a permanent course. The course will be open for individuals to join in cohorts to which the online sessions will be available for several weeks.
As our budget expands, we will be able to hire multiple psychotherapists and provide this course for multiple cohorts at a time.
