£2,000
This donation supports Foundation for Educational Equity and Development (FEED)'s Library Corners programme for over 1,300 children across three underserved schools in the Shai Osudoku District of Greater Accra, Ghana. In Ghana, less than 2% of Grade 2 pupils in public schools read with fluency, and most homes in peri-urban communities have just one or two reading items.
FEED installs ten classroom-based Library Corners across the three schools, stocking each with age-appropriate books, levelled readers, and phonics tools, and running daily reading activities for the children. The donation also supports teacher training in child-centred reading methods and monthly visits to monitor use and track reading progress.
