Solar lighting for City of Peace Shelter in Kiambu, Kenya

This donation supports Wounded Healers Foundation's work with survivors of sexual violence at the City of Peace Shelter and Learning Centre in Kiambu, Kenya. Kiambu sees frequent power cuts that leave bedrooms, classrooms, and walkways unsafe and unusable at night, with staff and residents often relying on mobile phone torches.

Wounded Healers Foundation installs portable solar lighting at the shelter and learning centre, giving young mothers safe light to care for babies at night and learners reliable light to keep studying when the grid fails. The donation also covers installation, simple training and instructions in English and Kiswahili so staff can use and maintain the lights, and follow-up check-ins to make sure the system stays in working order.
