Since our last report, we’ve completed the distribution of Wings Poa kits and menstrual hygiene training at two schools:

  • Ngului Comprehensive School – 77 girls reached

  • Kyawango Comprehensive School – 76 girls reached

Each student received a reusable Wings Poa sanitary pad kit, and all participants attended interactive workshops led by our team. These sessions offered practical guidance on kit use and care, while also providing a safe space for open, honest conversations about menstruation and menstrual health.

Ahead of upcoming distributions, we also conducted a menstrual health and hygiene survey at Ngamba Secondary School to better understand the needs of the students.

Elizabeth, a teacher at Kyawango Comprehensive School, shared:

We’re happy because girls now have the kits to take them through the whole year. The government only issues three packs of disposable products for the entire year, and that can only last them about three months.

With schools on break in August, the remaining Phase 2 activities are scheduled for September. Once schools reopen, we’ll resume kit distribution and training at Ngamba Secondary School and Lower Yatta Girls Secondary School.

Meanwhile, our community-based production team, the LitMoms, has successfully produced 200 reusable sanitary kits. Another 250 kits are currently in production, which will complete our target of 450 kits for this phase.
