We are pleased to report that we received the grant of $4,200 to support Phase 2 of the 2025 reusable menstrual kit effort.

Following the disbursement, we procured the necessary fabrics and materials, and the LitMoms have begun production. This phase will result in the creation of 450 reusable menstrual kits.

As part of our community engagement efforts, we conducted a menstrual health and hygiene survey in three schools: Kyawango Comprehensive School, Ngului Comprehensive School, and Lower Yatta Girls Secondary School. The findings highlighted significant challenges faced by students, including limited access to affordable menstrual products and a lack of awareness around menstrual hygiene.

Once production is complete, the 450 kits will be distributed across the following four schools:

  1. Kyawango Comprehensive School – 76 students

  2. Ngului Comprehensive School – 77 students

  3. Ngamba Secondary School – 97 students

  4. Lower Yatta Girls Secondary School – 200 students

We plan to begin distribution before the August school break. Alongside the kits, we will conduct educational workshops at each school to promote proper menstrual hygiene practices and reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation.
