97 menstrual kits produced for girls in rural Kenya

Posted 30 Oct 2025
The Wings Poa Project continues to make steady progress toward reducing period poverty and promoting menstrual dignity among girls in rural Kenya. Production of reusable menstrual kits is underway, with a particular focus on assembling the shields.
Over the past two weeks, two Litmoms have been working hard to sew the shields, producing 97 complete kits so far. Just 50 shields remain to reach our Phase 2 target of distributing Wings Poa kits to 450 girls. At this pace, we expect to complete and distribute the remaining kits within the next two weeks. We have not faced any challenges during this period, the project remains well on track to meet its goals and create meaningful impact in the community.
I am very happy to make the Wings Poa because now I can comfortably pay tuition for my daughter, who recently enrolled at university. I can cover her hostel fees and provide money for food and upkeep.
Activities this period:
Produced 97 shields for Wings Poa kits
Packaged 97 complete Wings Poa kits
Coordinated with Lower Yatta Girls' school to plan the next distribution and training session
