Since our last update, the remaining 100 Wings Poa kits have been successfully produced, bringing the total number of kits completed to 650.

The remaining 172 kits were distributed to students at the following schools:

School

Number of kits

Kaliambeu Comprehensive School

70 kits

Machakos Secondary School For The Deaf

102 kits

With this final round, a total of 650 girls have now received kits and menstrual hygiene training.

In June, menstrual hygiene and health training were conducted in the final two schools listed above. These sessions, like the previous ones, emphasised the proper use and maintenance of reusable kits, hygiene best practices, and strategies for reducing stigma. Teachers and students have reported high levels of engagement and appreciation for the open, respectful dialogue created through these sessions.

The local women employed have now collectively earned $2,500 (approx) through their participation in the project. Beyond income, they continue to gain valuable skills in textile production. As Mirriam shared:

"This work has given me confidence and stability. I have been able to save for my daughter's tuition fees, who will be joining the university in September. I am grateful for this chance."

We continue to receive moving testimonials from students about the impact of the kits. A student from Kaliambeu Comprehensive School, Faith, remarked:

"Before the training, I thought menstruation was something to hide. Now I know how to take care of myself, and I feel proud, not ashamed."
